Somatic embodiment & movement workshop series :: Irene Sposetti, Being Motion
THURSDAY | FRIDAY | SATURDAY AFTERNOONS
Irene Sposetti is a multi-disciplinary performing artist, teacher and dance maker who began her artistic career studying classical music, drama and dance in Rome and Paris. While originally from Italy, for the last 20 years she has been traveling, living, studying and working abroad as an independent freelancer. Her artistic path has been influenced, therefore, by many different cultures and is deeply intertwined with self-inquiry investigations and practices.
“I will be sharing inspirations from my movement research and practice, diving together into our body consciousness awakening its elemental nature and intrinsic intelligence through somatic explorations and embodiments,” says Irene, who has been developing her own research, giving dance training, making performances and lectures in universities, schools, companies, festivals, cultural institutes, and independent platforms throughout Europe, Asia and Mexico. During the winter, she has lived and taught workshops in San Agustinillo, Oaxaca.
The main theme of Irene’s movement research is Improvisation. Through her practice, she aims for a heightened state of presence, increased awareness in the body, effortless motion, and a broadening of the technical and investigative skills of the mover. She has a particular interest in intuitive learning processes, empowering individuals, and promoting independent research and artistic projects.
Themes of inquiry at the retreat include:
- De-conditioning and empowering the relation to our body
- Accessing ease in moving, expressing non verbally
- Relating to others with playful and creative physical explorations
“Through practice in the studio and outdoors in nature, we will merge with the elements and the multi-dimensional expansiveness of the incredible natural landscapes that the coast offers.”

Vinyasa Yoga :: Maria Macsay, Moving Body
THURSDAY | FRIDAY | SATURDAY | SUNDAY MORNINGS
As a 500-hour advanced level certified Vinyasa yoga teacher, Maria Macsay guides people back home to themselves through yoga, dance, meditation, mindset, energy healing, and other mind-body connecting tools in her practice as a food & body freedom coach and embodiment facilitator.
“Our morning practices will awaken your mind and your body to bridge the mind-body connection that I see as the gateway for flow, health, creativity, and connection,” says Maria. “My teaching is informed by my background in dance, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin Yoga, creative sequencing, embodiment practices, and meditation; offering you a grounding, expanding, and nourishing practice for you to be anchored into throughout the retreat.”
As a child, Maria was introduced to meditation and energy healing by her mom and began to integrate them more deeply into her life in her late teens. While pursuing her degree in Dance & Performance, Maria came to yoga as a form of cross-training to help heal a back injury, which ended up changing the course of her life and leading her to teach on retreats and teacher trainings all around the world. She completed her initial 200-hour teacher training in Greece, and an additional 300-hour advanced level Vinyasa training in Sampoorna, India.
Maria is deeply passionate about sharing the “medicine” of movement, mediation, and mindset with others because of the impact they have made on her own life. “These portals are accessible to everyone regardless of status and have the powerful ability to connect us back to our truth, confidence, joy, health, and wellbeing.” Maria loves to support others in shifting into homeostasis, that place of inner alignment and optimal creation, and is delighted to share all that she’s learned along her journey with you! “For any practice or experience I lead, I am guided by intuition, the group dynamic, and my intention to deliver you back to the brilliance of your body, spark your inner light, and connect you to truth (the truth of who you are, your truth, and the truth that IS).”

Restorative / Thai Partner Yoga :: Shelley Reid
THURSDAY | FRIDAY | SATURDAY | SUNDAY EVENINGS
Canadian expat Shelley Reid has lived in Mexico for two decades, and brings her extensive teaching background in SUP yoga, restorative, yin and Thai massage to the retreat evenings.

So she built a home studio and then took her first Yoga Teacher Training, later completing her 500-hour yoga teacher training certification.
She is passionate about sharing the gift of yoga, touch and meditation, as she loves the way it makes her feel, and naturally wants to share that peace and joy with others.
